Polisi Bentrok dengan Mahasiswa Saat Hari Buruh di Purwokerto

Purwokerto (ANTARA News) - Peringatan Hari Buruh 1 Mei di Purwokerto, Kamis, diwarnai bentrokan antara polisi dengan puluhan mahasiswa yang hendak berdemo di halaman Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Purwokerto, Jawa Tengah.

Peristiwa tersebut berawal dari rencana unjuk rasa puluhan mahasiswa yang tergabung dalam FMN, HMI-MPO, dan AGRA dengan melakukan "long march" dari Kampus Universitas Jenderal Soedirman Purwokerto menuju RRI Purwokerto dan Pendopo Kabupaten Banyumas.

Mereka ingin mengajukan berbagai tuntutan di antaranya tentang penghapusan sistem kerja kontrak dan "outsourcing" serta adanya jaminan kebebasan berserikat bagi buruh.

Di tengah perjalanan, mereka beberapa kali dihentikan polisi yang meminta membubarkan diri lantaran koalisi mahasiswa tersebut tidak mengajukan izin terlebih dahulu.

Akan tetapi mereka tetap nekat menjalankan rencana tersebut.

Begitu pula saat tiba di depan RRI Purwokerto, mereka diingatkan untuk membubarkan diri tetapi tetap nekat untuk berorasi sehingga Pasukan Dalmas dari Polres Banyumas pun memaksa pengunjuk rasa bubar.

Akhirnya bentrokan tidak bisa dihindarkan yang mengakibatkan terpukulnya empat mahasiswa dan seorang polisi, Bripda Nugroho.

Meski sempat terjadi bentrokan, pengunjuk rasa tersebut berhasil diamankan polisi dan segera dibawa ke Polres Banyumas untuk diperiksa.

Terkait peristiwa tersebut, Kasat Intelkam Polres Banyumas AKP Zaenal Abidin mengatakan, aksi unjuk rasa tersebut terpaksa dibubarkan karena tidak mengantongi izin.

"Mereka tidak mengajukan izin untuk menggelar unjuk rasa. Selain itu, berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 9 Tahun 1998, unjuk rasa tidak boleh dilakukan pada hari libur," katanya.

Berdasarkan data Polres Banyumas, jumlah mahasiswa yang diamankan dan diperiksa oleh polisi sebanyak 21 orang. (*)
